Journal "Socio-economic problems of the modern period of Ukraine" was founded in 1996 under the title "Socio-economic research in transition period" and was re-registered in 2007 under the present title.

The founders of the Journal:

• National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine;
• Dolishniy Institute of Regional Research of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

The journal is included in the list of scientific professional editions of Ukraine, in which the results of dissertation papers for the academic degrees of Ph.D. and Doctor of Sciences in economics can be published.

The journal has been included in the international scientometric database Index Copernicus, Poland - since 2012.
