Provincial authorities of Bukovina continue its cooperation with IRD NAS of Ukraine

January 23 2013 the First Deputy Head of Chernivtsi Regional State Administration George Galicia and deputy chairman of the regional council Valentin Manilich met with the director of the Institute for Regional Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Economics Basil Kravtsivym. The meeting was also attended by doctors of economic sciences, prominent scientists Kolomiets Igor and Valery Evdokimenko.

during the meeting dealt with the cooperation of local authorities with the Institute for Regional Studies of Ukraine on socio-economic development of the region.

Participants expressed the belief that today's talks will promote further constructive and fruitful cooperation between the provincial authorities and Bukovina Institute for Regional Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and, as a result, Chernivtsi region will become an example of such cooperation to other regions of the state.

December 12, 2012 at the Institute of Regional Studies, NAS of Ukraine hosted a round table discussion on "Problems and Prospects of Small Cities Carpathian region", which discussed issues of small cities in the region in modern conditions and the need to find solutions to the problems of combining the needs of scientists, practitioners, mistobudivelnykiv, officials, public figures.

At a roundtable eminent scientists and experts on urban development, representatives of regional and local authorities in Lviv region.

Based on summarizing the results discuss the current state of development of small cities Lviv region and future prospects, the roundtable participants developed practical recommendations for overcoming the problems of socio-economic development of small towns in the Carpathian region, who directed the Central Department of Economics of the Lviv regional state administration and local authorities .


November 15, 2012, a round table "Current status and prospects of investment in the region»

15 November 2012 at the Institute for Regional Studies of Ukraine hosted a roundtable on "Current status and prospects of investment in the region." The relevance and importance of the issues of investment interests together representatives of science, government, community and business.

moderated roundtable was director of the Institute for Regional Studies of Ukraine prof. VS Shvetsov. Congratulating all the participants, he emphasized the positive trends for investment in the economy and the importance of Lviv outline promising directions of investment activity in the region with regard to its effectiveness at the present stage of development.


4-5 October 2012 in Lviv hosted the Third International scientific-practical conference "Sustainable Development of the Carpathians: current situation and strategies."

The purpose of the conference was to discuss a wide range of current socio-economic and environmental problems of the Ukrainian Carpathians, develop conceptual approaches and practical recommendations to address them in the context of the Framework Convention on the Protection and Sustainable Development of the Carpathians, development and implementation of effective mining policy in Ukraine. It should be noted that this is the third conference on the given area (the first two were in 2006 and 2008) and such conferences are regularly held in the future.

Conference topics:
1. Scientific principles and legal and regulatory support sustainable development policy of the Ukrainian Carpathians.
2. Natural resource and environmental prerequisites for sustainable development.
3. Socio-economic problems of the territory and their solutions: national, regional, local level.
4. International cooperation for sustainable development of the Carpathians: the forms and methods of activation.

main organizer of the conference was the Institute of Regional Studies in Ukraine. Co-organizers of the conference were relevant ministries, regional authorities Carpathian region, Western Scientific Center of NAS and MES of Ukraine, a number of scientific institutions and higher education institutions. Great help in the Conference gave Lviv Banking Institute of the University of banking NBU.
