Resume

The paper researches the current condition of medicinal plant industry in Ukraine and its connection with other branches of national economy. Major problems of ecological and economic nature in terms of medicinal plant growing, collection of wild grasses and protection of disappearing species are outlined. The nature of the balanced development of medicinal plant industry is examined and its priority directions are found. Global tendencies, development and perspectives of the principles of maintenance and sustainable use of medicinal plants’ resources ensuring its gradual revival are researched. Ecological, economic and social factors of influence are examined and the need to transfer the medicinal plant industry in Ukraine to the principles of balanced development is emphasized.
