Resume

The article outlines the results of the research of cross-border cooperation institutionalized forms’ functioning in the EU and Ukraine. The dynamics of their development and major spheres of activity are examined. The obstacles to their functioning (unfinished administrative and territorial reform, non-harmonized legislation, lack of financial support, poor residents’ awareness, etc) and the ways of their overcoming (introduction of amendments to the Law of Ukraine on Cross-Border Cooperation, granting state financial support to these institutions, development of information websites, holding the trainings for employees of relevant authorities’ structures on the development of CBC institutionalized forms) are defined.
